BlackSiren is a voice-to-text Android keyboard application that allows users to dictate text using voice input. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Voice & Audio
- Voice recordings: Captured only when you explicitly tap the microphone button
- Transcriptions: Your spoken words converted to text
- Processing data: Information needed to route your audio to the transcription provider you selected
Account Information
- Email address: Used for sign-in and account management
- Authentication tokens: Secure credentials to identify you to our backend
Usage Data
- Feature usage: Which features you use (e.g., hands-free vs. push-to-talk)
- Error logs: Diagnostic information if something fails
- Session metadata: Timestamps and session IDs (no content retained)
Device Information
- Device model and OS version: For compatibility and crash diagnostics
- App version: To track which version you're using
What We Do NOT Collect

How We Use Your Information
- Transcription: Your voice is sent securely to the AI provider you chose (Google Gemini or MAI) to convert speech to text
- Service improvement: We use crash logs and feature usage to fix bugs and improve the keyboard
- Authentication: Your email and account info are used only to verify you have access to BlackSiren
- Quota management: We track your monthly transcription usage to enforce fair limits
Data Retention
- Voice recordings: Deleted immediately after transcription (not stored)
- Transcribed text: Deleted after being inserted into your text field (not stored)
- Account data: Retained as long as your account is active; deleted upon request
- Logs: Retained for 30 days for diagnostics, then deleted
Third-Party Providers
When you use BlackSiren, your voice audio is sent to:
- Google Gemini (if selected for transcription)
- MAI (if selected for transcription)

Your keyboard input isn't sent to these providers, only your voice audio while you're actively dictating.
Security
- ✅ All data in transit is encrypted (TLS/HTTPS)
- ✅ Authentication uses industry-standard OAuth / Microsoft Entra
- ✅ Access is restricted to authorized users only
- ✅ We do not store plaintext passwords
Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt-out: Stop using BlackSiren at any time
